Santoshi Mata (Hindi: संतोषी माता) or Santoshi Maa (संतोषी माँ) is a Hindu goddess, who is venerated as "the Mother of Satisfaction",[1] the meaning of her name. Santoshi Mata is particularly worshipped by women of North India and Nepal. A vrata (ritual fast) called the Santoshi Maa vrata performed by women on 16 consecutive Fridays wins the goddess' favour.

Lansdowne is a small town in Pauri Garwhal in Uttarakhand in India which is the regimental Centre of the Garwhal Rifles regiment. This is a pleasant place with several visiting places for tourists.
 
The tourists mainly visit the so called highest point called the Tip in Top but the road beyond it goes to the Santoshi Mata Mandir, a place higher than the Tip in Top.
 
This temple is under the upkeep with the Garwhal Rifles people and ther is no so called priest within.
A small steep climb reaches the temple away from the hustle and bustle of the crowds. the temple is clean and is revered. The road further goes towards the central School.
